August 25th, (Wed.) The 52steps of Sarusawa Pond

On August 25th 2010, Nara International Festival will hold the grand opening celebrating with a "Red Carpet Event with 1300 people" on the historically important 52 steps, which are the link in between the Sarusawa pond and Kofukuji, a World Heritage temple, with the five story pagoda in the back ground.

We selected this scene which has a touch of Nara because we wish to introduce Nara to the world through this film festival. To celebrate the 1300th anniversary year of the Nara Palace site with a red carpet for the opening of the film festival, we will also invite up to 1300 people including supporters of the film festival activities and guests, actors and directors from all over the world.
