Hello everyone.
I’m Atsushi Tettou.
I’m honored to be able to continue my role in 2012 as a member of the Board of Directors.
In 2010, a special year for Nara, the Nara International Film Festival closed on a very successful note. I am thrilled to welcome a new year of exciting growth and progress.
Nara is a place with a rich cultural legacy in not only film but in all forms of art, including music and the fine arts. NIFF has the great mission of uncovering fresh talent in this town and sending out into the world those people that will serve as the cultural pillars of the next generation.
Nara is one of the world’s leading international cities.
NIFF, which has emerged from there, is still only a newborn child.
Even though it’s still a young festival, I believe that we can work together to nurture it so that it continues to grow larger and larger.
I hope to take on this challenge from a cultural perspective and bring out all that Nara has to offer as a historically rich, cultural capital.
I am moving forward in the hopes that film-lovers, music-lovers, and art-lovers of all kinds will grow alongside NIFF, sharing the same time and space, and experiencing together the inspiration and magic generated by all the great works of art.
To wonderful encounters for all through NIFF…
